The Absalom Jones Foundation has been in existence since 1996. It was the vision of Reverend Thomas Jackmon of Philadelphia. At the time of its founding Rev. Jackmon was serving as the Most Worshipful Grand Master of Prince Hall Masons for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Currently the foundation is undergoing what we consider a relaunch. The success of the relaunch of the AJF will be its ability to contribute in a measurable manner to its key areas of focus stated in the organization’s purpose and mission.
We have the ability contribute to these areas and assist in moving the needle for impact groups in several ways. Some of our initiative will be focused on providing a space/environment for the sharing of solutions.
Other opportunities will involve direct financial support to a cause or like minded organization. Therefore, strategic fundraising and budget will be key to our success. Our target for the next five years (by 2025) will be total giving of $750,000 or an average of $150,000 per year net of operating expenses.
We expect to share more of these plans for our relaunch as well as our strategic priorities in the coming months. Please visit this site for all our exciting news
and information as the Absalom Jones Foundation prepares for its future.
